Nintendo Wii

There are several versions of Nintendo Wii that have been released. The reason for the different versions varies. Some people say it is to combat the mod-chip industry. Others claim that there is improved performance in the units. Regardless of the reason, you need to know which chip is going to work in your console.

The first five numbers in your serial number is the key to discovering the version of Nintendo Wii that you have. Australian Wii's all start with the letters LAH followed by nine numbers (the last number will be in a box)

LAH123456789

Only the first five numbers really matter in most cases.

Series 1 (WiiKey) Wii's have a serial number range of 10000 through to 10159. This means you have easiest-to-mod console of them all. This version of Wii has the DMS/D2B chipset.

Series 2 (WiiKey) Wii's have the serial number range of 10160 through to 10215. Modifying these units becomes a little more complex. This version is almost identical to the Series 1 units except for the 3 legs, from the D2B controller chip, that have been removed. We need to rebuild these legs to get the modchip working.

Series 3 (D2CKey or Argon) Wii's have a serial number starting with LAH10216 and above. This unit requires a multi wire installation that is very intensive and time consuming. This version of Wii has the D2C controller chip.

We will supply and install either a WiiKey, D2CKey or Argon modchip depending on which generation of console you have. Series 1 and Series 2 both utilise the WiiKey. Series 3 will utilise either the D2Ckey or Argon.

We offer discounts to customers that bring several units at a time to us.So if you have friends or relatives with Wii's, gather them up and get it all done at the same time.
